Meet Dr. Katherine Shen (Kirkland, WA)

Katherine Shen, O.D., received her Doctor of Optometry from the State University of New York College of Optometry and earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Rochester. Dr. Shen has been with Bartlett Eye Clinic since 2021, where she provides care for patients aged six months and up. She is fluent in Mandarin, Shanghainese, and Spanish.

Dr. Shen specialized in pediatrics and ocular diseases during her training, completing rotations at State University of New York System (SUNY) and two Veteran Affairs (VA) hospitals in Arizona and China. Following this, Dr. Shen completed a residency in pediatrics, vision therapy, and ocular diseases in Boston, where she worked with specialists at Boston Medical Center and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She has published multiple research articles, lectured at hospitals, schools, and conferences both locally and internationally, and served as adjunct clinical faculty, training interns and residents.

Dr. Shen is an active member of the American Optometric Association, Optometric Physicians of Washington, the College of Vision Development, and the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association. Outside of work, Dr. Shen enjoys serving in her church, going on annual mission trips to Oaxaca, Mexico, and spending time with her husband and their young children.
